Dear Visitor:
Welcome to the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office web page.
This web page is one of the first projects I undertook upon assuming my duties as Prosecutor. Through this page it is my hope to keep the public informed of the services we provide.
My major emphasis as your Prosecuting Attorney will be to do all I can to make our county and communities a safer place to live and work. The proper investigation and the prosecution of serious crimes is the number one priority of the Prosecutor's Office. The Prosecutor's Office has a solid relationship and partnership with all law enforcement agencies in the County, and we work hand in hand with these agencies in investigating and prosecuting criminal activity in our county.
The Victims Rights Program in the Prosecutor’s Office, under the guidance of Martha Martin, offers services to persons who may be a victim of a crime. We strive to provide as many services as possible to help and assist as they deal and cope with being a victim of crime. I encourage any person who is a victim of crime to contact the Victims Rights Program and take advantage of the services they can offer.
The Prosecutor’s Office represents all elected county officials, providing advice as needed and providing legal representation in court proceedings. The Office also represents all the Townships in Jackson County and provides legal advice to these bodies.
The Juvenile Division, under the guidance of Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Joseph D. Kirby, prosecutes contested felony, misdemeanor and traffic cases involving a multitude of issues involving children.
Under the direction of Joanna Bentley, the Office’s Delinquent Real Estate Tax Division is continually working on the collection of delinquent real estate taxes within Jackson County.
Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Randy Dupree is the Office’s Municipal Court Prosecutor. His division prosecutes traffic and misdemeanor cases in the Jackson County Municipal Court.
It is my hope and intention, as time permits, to have the Prosecutor’s Office support as many worthwhile community projects as possible. The Office is especially interested in supporting crime prevention, anti-drug messages, and making our neighborhoods safer places.
